What is Hay Fever?
Hay fever is an allergic inflammation of the nasal passages triggered by pollen from trees, grasses or weeds. When inhaled, pollen allergens trigger the immune system to release histamine and other inflammatory mediators.

Typical hay fever symptoms triggered by airborne pollen, including sneezing, nasal congestion and itchy, watery eyes.
Symptoms may be seasonal (spring/summer) or persistent depending on the allergen. Grass pollen is the most common cause in the UK.
Common Symptoms of Hay Fever
✔ Nasal congestion or blockage
✔ Itchy nose, throat or ears
✔ Red, itchy or watery eyes (allergic conjunctivitis)
✔ Post-nasal drip and cough
✔ Fatigue and poor sleep
Symptoms often worsen during high pollen counts, early mornings, or outdoor exposure. Many patients also report reduced concentration and quality of life.
